Turmeric and Curcumin

Is anyone else obsessed with Turmeric right now.

I love it and I fell in love with it when I lived in Bali. This lovely lady would come to our house and make us fresh Jamu everyday. JAMU is turmeric root lemon juice and honey, it's a very yellow potent drink.   I drank it everyday as I was told it would make me a strong mother.... who wouldn't!  Little did I know at the time  that turmeric is one of the most powerful herbs for fighting and potentially reversing disease..

Jamu Lady. Actually they sell a lot of different types of Jamu. In Java it is an elixir of health...

Turmeric is the spice that gives curry its yellow color. It has been used in Indonesia and India for thousands of years as a spice and medicinal herb. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant.

Turmeric and curcumin are powerful antioxidants. The main reason antioxidants are so beneficial, is that they protect our bodies from free radicals. Curcumin has powerful antioxidant effects. It neutralizes free radicals on its own, then stimulates the body's own antioxidant enzymes.

Curcumin boosts levels of the brain hormone BDNF, which increases the growth of new neurons and fights various degenerative processes in the brain. So I am so happy that it is in the liquid supplement that I take everyday and just love, its a powerful concoction of adaptogen herbs.
